In order to meet its customers’ demands while complying with the current health guidelines, the Rivière-du-Loup/Saint-Siméon Ferry is pleased to announce that it will broaden its offer by adding 2 more departures per day, starting this Sunday, May 31st.
Therefore, the MV Trans-Saint-Laurent will leave from Rivière-du-Loup at 8 am and 1:30 pm while the departures from Saint-Siméon will take place at 10 am and 3 pm, on a weekly basis. “We are committed to providing high quality services as well as a schedule that better meets the needs of our clients” said Marco Ouellet, captain and director general.
Since the police checkpoints will be lifted on May 31st, the Côte-Nord region will be accessible again, except for the RCM of Minganie and Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent (Basse-Côte-Nord).
“We are monitoring closely our passengers’ traffic. It is possible that more departures might be added if there is a significant demand, for example during the summer holiday period” concluded Mr. Ouellet.
Please note that our customers are still being requested to keep a social distance of 2 meters between themselves and to wear a protective mask. The exterior decks and the passengers lounge will be reopened. However, as per the latest federal guidelines, the restaurant will remain closed until further notice; water bottles will be available upon request. Moreover, our customers will be asked to provide a credit or a debit card since payments in cash are no longer possible on our ferry.
In the current context of COVID-19, Transports Canada has set up guidelines so that passengers will be able to remain in their vehicle for the entire time of the crossing. The crew reserves the right to prohibit this special authorisation on poor weather conditions.
